20 Mile Museum

Description: 29 signs placed along Old Highway 40. Tells of history, stories, and lists activities at the location.

Clair Tappan Lodge

Description: Historic mountain lodge in the Tahoe area near several ski areas, fishing, the Pacific Crest Trail, and much more. Lodge also encourages a volunteer spirit with adults and kids alike helping out with kitchen duties, shoveling snow, splitting firewood and more.

Description: Historical society dedicated to the preservation of the most historic square mile in the west.

Emigrant Trail Museum

Description: State park with a beautiful lake and hiking trails. Museum also dedicated to emigrants and to the Donner party. Great place for skiing and snow shoeing.

Description: 19th century jail house preserved by the Truckee Historical Society. Held many historical criminals. Limited hours.

Rocking Stone Tower

Description: Tower built on a rock considered sacred to the Washoe people. Originally built to house Donner Party relics and a butterfly collection.

Description: Museum dedicated to the historical preservation of the people, stories, and events of Truckee.

Truckee Railroad Museum

Description: Historical train museum inside an old train car. Museum is currently constructing scenic train display for children.

Western SkiSport Museum

Description: Museum founded by the Auburn Ski Club to preserve the historical aspects of the longboard and winter ski sports in the western United States. Open only during the winter months.
