Community Trout Release for Earth Day!

A FREE Event this weekend to help the Nevada Department of Wildlife release fingerling trout into the Truckee River!

Where: Rock Park, 1515 S. Rock Blvd, Sparks NV

When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10am.

Cost: FREE and open to the public

Description: The Nevada Department of Wildlife has been working with more than 140 schools throughout the state as part of our Trout in the Classroom program. Now that all of the locally participating school have raised and released their own trout, we will release the hundreds of fingerling trout that have been reared at the Oxbow Nature Study Area. Help us release these trout into the Truckee River and participate in some watershed education activities along a riverside trail. We will have stations with more information about aquatic mammals, macroinvertebrates that tell about water quality in the Truckee River, and other fun wildlife facts.
